In the Sanctuary we live in community, being much more effective for humans and non-humans to get a fixed and constant team that not only knows the work dynamics but also the personalities and curiosities of each of our inhabitants.

In the Community of volunteers of the Sanctuary we live permanently as people and we love receiving more help!

The day to day of a resident volunteer

Our work days depend a lot on the needs of the animals we care for, so it is very important that you have a great disposition for physical work and of course you want to contribute directly to the fight for the rights of animals not humans.

We normally accept non-human companions but it is important that you specify this on the form.

Can't come for a long time?

Become a visiting volunteer

If you can only come to help during your vacations or for short periods of time, we offer you an option as a volunteer visitor, in which you can share the day-to-day with us and the inhabitants, but with other conditions.

Your stay will also help finance the high expenses that we have each month and it will surely be an unforgettable experience for you.

Sleeping in a magical yurt surrounded by nature from a week to a month has a cost of 10 euros per day in addition to your own diets (except the common breakfast that is included) you will be able to use all the supplies.

Your work schedules and requirements will be the same as for the rest of your colleagues, no! You’re in a hotel! But we will be very grateful for your help and your financial contribution: these types of actions are what make this project possible.

Non-resident volunteer

Non-Resident Volunteers are those people who cannot come for an extended time, but want to lend a hand for a few days a week. These volunteers form a very important part of our family, since our Resident Volunteers cannot do everything.

If you would like to be part of our team and help both the animals and our permanent team, we have three ways to be a Non-Resident Volunteer.

All modalities require the completion of a form and a short telephone interview with a member of the organization.

In some modalities, a minimum commitment of one day a week is required for a minimum period of 3 months.

Can you travel one day a week to La Puebla del Rio Al Santuario? Do you like direct contact with all kinds of animals? If you are interested in helping them to have a dignified life and willing to reap wonderful sensations, this is your option!

Volunteer for Transfers (rescue, veterinarians, adoptions)

Do you have a driver’s license and your own vehicle to get to the Sanctuary?

For us it is a great help to have people available so that our refugees can get to their veterinary consultations, to rescue or pick up new inhabitants or accompany them until the trip that will take them to their definitive home.

We have vehicles adapted for transportation and all security and insurance systems.

It is not a volunteer program in which we can close fixed days (unless there is an inhabitant who needs fixed visits to a specialized center) but knowing that you have availability for these activities will be a great relief!!!

WHAT WE NEED:

* That you have your own vehicle and a license to get to the Sanctuary, as well as that you transmit your availability to us (for example, on weekends or vice versa)

*That you have communication skills, patience and know how to work as a team!

*NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY, WE JUST ASK FOR A GREAT ATTITUDE!

Resident Volunteer

The volunteer periods that can access this option are a minimum of 3 to 6 FULL MONTHS. We need you to be able to commit during this time so that we can accept your request.

You may bring your furry companion(s) depending on the time and the team of volunteers when you do the request: there are only 2 areas of volunteers suitable for the furry company, if they are free or we can organize it, it is not a problem for us.

THE FOOD THROUGHOUT THE SANCTUARY IS 100% VEGAN and although your natural habits they are not, we need you to commit to this point, since out of respect for the animals that we care for here we do not consume anything of animal origin.

We take care of the diets and accommodation, but you have to maintain the cleanliness of your areas and collaborate with cleaning and shifts of common tasks.

Work shifts are complete: your commitment is 5 days of work and animal love and 2 days off.

We offer you an individual cabin where you can enjoy your privacy, in addition to having Oner of different areas and common spaces.

You do not need previous experience, please be honest when answering the questions, it is not a judgement, it is necessary information so that we are all as comfortable as possible.

Visiting Volunteer

If you can’t afford much free time but you have a few weeks and you really want to… this is your modality!

This volunteering option is for people who can’t spend long periods of residence: it’s more of a mutual experience that we will be delighted to enjoy!

The cost per day of this type of volunteering is 10 euros per day, with this contribution you are also collaborating with all the inhabitants of the sanctuary and with the community.< /p>

For the volunteer’s work to be really effective, in almost all cases, a minimum of a couple of months is necessary, that’s why we offer this intermediate option for those who can’t come for a long time, but are dying to! to live the experience!

Food throughout the sanctuary is 100% vegan and even if your natural habits are not, we need you to commit to this point, because out of respect for the animals we care for here, we do not consume anything of animal origin.

We take care of l accommodation and food, but you have to maintain the cleanliness of your areas and collaborate with the cleaning and shifts of common tasks.

Non-resident Volunteer

If you want to know the daily work we do in the sanctuary and contribute all your energy for the welfare of the refugees, this is your option!

Our work days are in the morning and afternoon but we accept volunteering full-time non-resident as well.

To begin the practical training process, we need you to commit to coming permanently at least one day a week (preferably always the same) for a minimum of 3 months. Animals need trusted caregivers to feel more comfortable!

Volunteer for transportation

From time to time, we need to organize transportation for an inhabitant.

In some cases, it is a veterinary appointment, sometimes we need to go completely unpredictably to an urgent rescue, and also, in In the happiest cases, we accompany a newly adopted animal to its new home.

If you have a driver’s license and your own vehicle, and you can go to the sanctuary and give a few hours of your time on the road for the welfare of the inhabitants of the sanctuary, this is your opportunity to contribute your grain of sand and contribute to the various activities of the sanctuary being able to develop more smoothly.
