Linda’s story is unfortunately like that of many dogs in Spain, who live completely abandoned even though they have a supposed family.
Linda is an 8 year old lady who has lived a very sedentary life, almost never leaving the house: this has led to some clinical problems such as overweight and some movement difficulties, which we are treating with heat and gentle physiotherapy.
When her former owners handed her over to a volunteer she had no treatment, she had never been treated before! That same night she had a seizure and went to the emergency room where she was diagnosed with possible epilepsy for which she has to take a pill every 12 hours.
Since Linda’s arrival she has not had any seizures but we have seen some strange behaviours in her that could be the result of some kind of brain injury, so we are going to do a CAT scan as soon as possible.
She is an amazing dog that has already made all of us volunteers fall in love with her, quiet but super funny, it’s impossible not to laugh at her witticisms!
She walks great on a leash and is clean in the hut, she is also very sociable with other dogs and with people of all ages, also with children.
She is a glutton, that’s for sure! That’s why we are now following a diet to restore her weight…this will improve her bones and she will be able to walk more comfortably!
Linda Carey is someone very special, someone who can brighten and brighten your life, someone who is full of love to give, someone with a look that pierces the soul.
