Male, Mixed breed, small/medium (approx. 8.5 kg), born approx. 07.08.2017

Characteristics:

Very affectionate, calm and extraordinarily noble
Gets along beautifully with all other dogs, regardless of size or gender
Loves human contact, cuddles and his daily walk — he calls from his pen when it’s time to go out
One of those dogs who always leans in close, as if quietly saying thank you for being there

History and personality:

Charlie arrived at the shelter after being found alone, wandering in a nearby village. He was frightened and had a deep wound on the right side of his jaw, likely caused by the bite of a larger dog.

What surprised us most was discovering that, despite everything he had been through, Charlie holds no grudge. He is an incredibly sweet dog who gets along wonderfully with any other dog, male or female, big or small. His character is as noble as his gaze — though he does seem to be a shy one, as he tends to close his eyes in front of a camera. His wound was treated from the very first day and is healing well. During veterinary tests we also discovered that Charlie has leishmaniasis, which, combined with his age, may mean his recovery takes a little longer.

Today Charlie is a completely different dog from the one who arrived. He is relaxed, enjoys his routine and looks forward to his walk every day. He loves to stroll calmly, receive strokes and stay close to the people who care for him. He is one of those dogs who always seeks to lean against you, as if wanting to thank you simply for being there. Charlie has won the hearts of everyone who has met him — he has that special sweetness that only some dogs carry, and right now, an immense happiness that is impossible not to feel.

What he needs:

We are looking for a home where he can enjoy the peace, affection and stability he has probably never known. A family that sees in Charlie everything we see every day: a wonderful, grateful companion full of love to give.

Veterinary information:

Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and with an EU passport. To be neutered shortly. Tested positive for leishmaniasis, currently under treatment and being monitored.

Adoption fees

From the moment we take in a rescued animal, we assume all the maintenance costs, but we greatly appreciate the collaboration of the future families with the costs of basic veterinary expenses. This is how we can continue rescuing and helping.

(including spaying and neutering)

Don’t worry, there are ways you can adopt a kitten in our shelter since there are specific animal transport companies that could send it to you.

We do not work with MRW, only with companies animalistic and trustworthy.

Transportation costs are separate from the adoption costs and should be borne by the adopter.

Information about the dogs up for adoption

All the dogs are delivered neutered or with commitment to neuter in one of our associated veterinary clinics if they are puppies.
All dogs are delivered with a passport, microchip and vaccines, as well as deworming.
All the dogs are delivered after signing the adoption contract and paying the fees.
For the adoption to be positive, we need you to send us the La Candela dog adoption form and to be able to confirm the environment where the little one would normally live We make a visit at home that with the current restrictions we can summarize to a video call. For us it is very important that you also feel comfortable in the process, we only look for the best option for everyone, so in no case are we going to judge anything.
