Male, Mixed breed, small/medium (approx. 8.5 kg), born approx. 07.08.2017

Characteristics:

Very affectionate, calm and extraordinarily noble

Gets along beautifully with all other dogs, regardless of size or gender

Loves human contact, cuddles and his daily walk — he calls from his pen when it’s time to go out

One of those dogs who always leans in close, as if quietly saying thank you for being there

History and personality:

Charlie arrived at the shelter after being found alone, wandering in a nearby village. He was frightened and had a deep wound on the right side of his jaw, likely caused by the bite of a larger dog.

What surprised us most was discovering that, despite everything he had been through, Charlie holds no grudge. He is an incredibly sweet dog who gets along wonderfully with any other dog, male or female, big or small. His character is as noble as his gaze — though he does seem to be a shy one, as he tends to close his eyes in front of a camera. His wound was treated from the very first day and is healing well. During veterinary tests we also discovered that Charlie has leishmaniasis, which, combined with his age, may mean his recovery takes a little longer.

Today Charlie is a completely different dog from the one who arrived. He is relaxed, enjoys his routine and looks forward to his walk every day. He loves to stroll calmly, receive strokes and stay close to the people who care for him. He is one of those dogs who always seeks to lean against you, as if wanting to thank you simply for being there. Charlie has won the hearts of everyone who has met him — he has that special sweetness that only some dogs carry, and right now, an immense happiness that is impossible not to feel.

What he needs:

We are looking for a home where he can enjoy the peace, affection and stability he has probably never known. A family that sees in Charlie everything we see every day: a wonderful, grateful companion full of love to give.

Veterinary information:

Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and with an EU passport. To be neutered shortly. Tested positive for leishmaniasis, currently under treatment and being monitored.

Female, Mixed breed, medium (approx. 11.5 kg), born approx. 15/09/2025

Walks beautifully, calm and without pulling on the lead

Sociable with other dogs, quickly bringing out her most joyful and fun side

History and personality:

Samba arrived at the shelter after being found alone on the street. Fortunately, before reaching us she was lucky enough to cross paths with a wonderful family who took her in for a few days and gave her the affection and security she so needed.

She is a young dog, full of life and with an enormous desire to enjoy the world. She loves to play, run and discover everything around her, but if there is one thing she loves even more, it is cuddles. She has a habit that melts our hearts: she rolls onto her back in the lap of whoever is beside her, just like a little cat, waiting for the strokes to never end.

With other dogs she gets along very well. She may seem a little unsure at first, but she quickly understands that she has new friends to play and share adventures with. Samba is one of those dogs who brightens up the day just by looking at her. She has an expression full of light, an infectious joy and an enormous capacity to give affection to everyone she meets.

What she needs:

All she needs now is a family who will love her forever. A home where she can grow, play, receive all the cuddles she loves so much and live the happy life she deserves. We are certain that from here on, only wonderful things await her.

Veterinary information:

Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and with an EU passport. To be spayed shortly. Tested negative for all infectious diseases screened.

Female, Mixed breed, medium (approx. 8.5 kg), born approx. 28.05.2025

Characteristics:

Sweet, sensitive and calm — a noble little dog with a lot of love to give

Sociable with other dogs, regardless of size or gender

Walks beautifully on the lead, relaxed and without pulling, once she accepts it

Needs time, patience and a calm hand to discover that she is already safe

History and personality:

Fay arrived at the shelter after being found alone on the street. We don’t know her history, but we can see the marks it has left on her. She is a dog who still lives on high alert, who doesn’t allow herself to be touched easily and for whom something as simple as a lead seems to be a completely new experience.

Every day we work with her to help her build confidence and to show her that she no longer needs to be afraid. And although there is still a way to go, Fay constantly shows us the wonderful dog hiding behind her insecurities. Because as soon as she manages to relax and feels she can trust, something beautiful happens: she melts completely. She comes closer, lies down beside us and seeks physical contact with a tenderness that is deeply moving.

Little by little, the real Fay is beginning to emerge: curious, affectionate and full of light. The company of other dogs gives her a great deal of confidence, though she can also be on her own. We are certain that her fear is something she will be able to overcome, because behind that tense body and cautious gaze is a young dog who simply wants to feel protected and loved.

What she needs:

We are looking for a patient and respectful home for Fay, one willing to accompany her through this process and give her all the time she needs to blossom. She just needs a calm hand, a gentle voice and someone who can give her the security she probably never had. We are certain that whoever opens their heart to her will discover an exceptional companion.

Veterinary information:

Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and with an EU passport. To be spayed shortly. Awaiting results of infectious disease tests, though she appears to be in good health.

Male, Mixed breed, medium (approx. 6 kg), born approx. 10.06.2015

Characteristics:

Calm, serene and full of quiet wisdom

Enjoys gentle walks, strokes and a comfortable bed

A gentle old soul whose peace touches everyone around him

History and personality:

Séneca was found alone, walking the streets, his body exhausted and silently asking for help. We were alerted because it was clear something was wrong. Tests revealed what we had feared: a highly advanced abdominal tumour compromising nearly all of his vital organs. A CT scan confirmed that, given its size, how long it had been developing and the internal damage caused, the mass is inoperable. His age and physical condition mean that surgery would carry too great a risk to his life.

With that, we made the most respectful decision we could: to accompany him through palliative care, with one single goal — that he lives free from pain, with dignity and as comfortably as possible.

He is a being of light. A gentle old boy who, despite everything, still finds joy in the simplest things: a quiet walk, a stroke, a soft bed. His calm and wisdom touch us deeply. He is, without a doubt, a teacher to all of us.

What he needs:

Séneca will need medication and specialist nutrition for the time he has left. We are deeply grateful to be by his side during this chapter, and to finally give him everything he was missing for so long: care, respect and love. Séneca will never be alone again.

Above all, we are looking for sponsors who want to be part of his journey and help us cover his treatments, medication and special diet. Because every life matters. And Séneca deserves, more than ever, to be loved and cared for until the very end.

Veterinary information:

Vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and with an EU passport. Currently receiving palliative treatment.

Playful, affectionate and grateful

Loves cuddles and human contact, and places full trust in people

Gets along well with other cats and is suitable for homes with children

Requires special care and ongoing veterinary follow-up

History and personality:

Minu arrived at the Sanctuary with a difficult past, but with a strength that is truly moving. When she was very young, she was found on the street with a spinal injury that left her paralysed. It is an irreversible condition, but her will to live is unstoppable. Because Minu is not her injury. Minu is light, tenderness and a little fighter who enjoys life in her own way.

She is a beautiful, sweet and deeply affectionate cat. Despite everything she has been through, she trusts people completely and lets herself be cared for with a gentleness that is impossible not to fall in love with. Here she lives alongside Chantal and Nórdica in a space specially adapted for paralysed cats, where she can get around in her little wheelchair and share her daily life with others like her.

What she needs:

Minu requires more attention than most cats: special care, veterinary follow-up and consistent dedication. Finding a family for her would be a true miracle. But if that day never comes, she has a forever home here. Above all, we are looking for sponsors who want to be part of her story and help us ensure she never goes without. Because Minu deserves a long, dignified life full of love — just like every animal does.
